Ms. Semmel is a seasoned employment attorney with extensive experience in employment law and business litigation. Ms. Semmel serves as an arbitrator on the Employment Law Panel of the American Arbitration Association, as well as a Workplace Investigator and Discovery Referee. Ms. Semmel is a partner at Kelley•Semmel LLP where her practice focuses on the representation of employees, including matters involving employment discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and other protected characteristics; sexual harassment; wrongful termination; whistle blower actions; defamation, wage and hour disputes (unpaid wages, meal periods and overtime); unfair business practices and trade secrets.
Having practiced at a major law firm as well as a prestigious litigation boutique, Ms. Semmel brings to the representation of her clients the insight of having represented employers and businesses, in addition to her expertise on behalf of employees.
Ms. Semmel has published numerous articles, many in the Daily Journal, on a variety of employment law topics, such as employment privacy rights and other discovery issues. She is frequently invited to speak at conferences and seminars throughout the state about employment law.
Ms. Semmel graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, and earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
