Kevin Dorhout was born in the Midwest where he learned the prized ethics of hard work, fairness and genuinely listening to the concerns of his clients when providing legal services.
Mr. Dorhout graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Santa Clara University with a degree in Political Science. It was during an internship with a Santa Clara County Supervisor’s Office that Mr. Dorhout learned the value and importance of local government, fair legal representation and the commitment to serve. Mr. Dorhout then went on to earn his Law Degree from Santa Clara University.
Mr. Dorhout started his legal career in the field of labor relations and employment law before moving to Ventura in 1995 where he worked at the District Attorney’s Office prosecuting misdemeanor trials, land use violations, weights and measures matters and fraud cases. After almost four years of valuable training and trial experience, Mr. Dorhout went into civil practice working at law firms in Oxnard, Ventura and Westlake Village where he represented clients in the areas of employment, business, real estate, estate planning and probate litigation. Mr. Dorhout, individually or as co-counsel, took civil matters to trial and succeeded in having cases dismissed through motions made to the court. In 2011, Mr. Dorhout opened his own practice.
Mr. Dorhout is a long-time resident of Thousand Oaks with his wife and their two children.
