Katherine began her career in estate planning, probate and business law in 2007 when she joined the Law Office of Ben A. Schuck III as a paralegal. While Katherine had worked with various other law firms and organizations before, she instantly knew that this was the type of work she wanted to do. Katherine attended the Ventura College of Law while working as a paralegal, and graduated in December 2010 with her Juris Doctor. Katherine passed the California Bar Exam in February 2011 and started as an associate with Ben Schuck after being sworn in as a licensed attorney in June 2011. Katherine was promoted to partner with Ben Schuck & Katherine Hause, LLP in January 2012. The firm changed its name to Ben Schuck & Katherine Becker, LLP after Katherine’s marriage in 2013, and is currently known as Schuck, Becker & Dehesa, LLP. The firm practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration, business law, bankruptcy, conservatorships, guardianships, and real property law.
Katherine enjoys working with clients in planning their estate plans, gift and tax planning, business succession planning, incorporating their businesses, and keeping up with their contracts, leases, and corporate minutes. When a loved one passes away, Katherine assists her clients in administering their estates – from the straight-forward probate to complicated trust administrations and business succession plans. Katherine further regularly works with families or people with someone in their life with special needs. She is very familiar with conservatorships and special needs trusts, and is passionate about helping people through these sometimes daunting processes.
Katherine is also very involved in the Ventura County Bar Association. She sits on the VCBA Board of Directors, is the Past-President of the Women Lawyers of Ventura County, the Barristers of Ventura County, and the Animal Law Section of the VCBA. She also sits on the Board of the Estate Planning & Probate Section of the VCBA and assists the Mexican American Bar Association in her spare time. She lives in Oxnard with her husband, Rick, son, Declan, and three dogs.
