Cyrus Naim is a litigation attorney with a practice focusing on business and commercial disputes, intellectual property, and First Amendment issues. He has handled cases both at the trial and appellate level, in both state and federal courts, for over ten years.
Mr. Naim received his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2002, with majors in Economics and Political Science, and a minor in Philosophy. He obtained his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2005.
After graduating law school, Mr. Naim accepted an associate position at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, where he remained for five years. During that time, he worked with and was trained by some of the top litigators in the country, and represented a range of clients including both individuals with smaller claims, and Fortune 500 companies in disputes worth millions of dollars. Mr. Naim then moved to K&L Gates, LLP, one of the largest law firms in the world. While there, Mr. Naim further developed his expertise in appellate work, trademark, and copyright.
Mr. Naim’s legal achievements include obtaining a judgment in excess of nine million dollars for a trademark client, successfully obtaining reversal of a trial court decision and reinstating a civil case for over 50 separate defamation claims, dismissal of several lawsuits at the pleading stage, and numerous victories at summary judgment.
Mr. Naim is admitted to practice in California state courts, and is admitted in and has practiced in all California federal district courts.
